The 6 paintings  below were painted by well known muralist, Stephanie Taylor.  In 1980, she was contacted by First Interstate Bank to create paintings that would depict the essence and history of the local area.  The paintings hung behind the tellers in the local bank branch at 9th Street
and San Julian Street across from The City Market.  Every person in these paintings is a real person working in the Flower or Produce Markets.  Through the course of time and bank mergers, these paintings were stored in a Wells Fargo Bank basement.  When the opportunity arose, the paintings were donated to The City Market of Los Angeles.  With a little T.L.C., the paintings were cleaned up and are now on permanent display at The City Market's own Upstairs at the Market Gallery.
